[Partners for a Healthier Community, Inc.]

An alliance of local organizations, including HAPHousingBaystate Health Systems,Sisters of Providence Health Systems, the Springfield Department of Health and Human Services, and Partners for a Healthier Community, received a national grant of $75,000 to improve the health and well-being of the Old Hill neighborhood.  Efforts will include a focus on increasing access to healthy food options, housing, and neighborhood revitalization.

The grant was received under the BUILD Health Challenge, a national awards program designed to encourage communities to build meaningful partnerships among hospitals and health systems, community-based organizations, its local health department, and other organizations to improve the overall health of local residents.
