Northeast Denver Unified focused on 5 neighborhoods in Northeast Denver, Colorado: Cole, Clayton, Five Points, Skyland, and Whittier. They are more diverse, poorer and experience higher rates of health disparities than the city as a whole. The communities face high rates of exposure to early childhood adversity such as domestic violence, out-of-home placement, and single-parent families. Northeast Denver Unified aimed to ensure that children across these communities are valued, healthy, and thriving through community engagement and education.
