In Muskegon, MI, residents and organizational partners come together to identify changes they want to see in their community, and put those changes into action. Through the powerful Livability Lab, local teams utilize data and lived experience to identify challenges in their neighborhoods. Next, they put together action teams that embark on a 100-day challenge to find solutions.

“Collaboration is so important in this work because everybody doesn’t have all the answers. You need other people in the room.”

From the Livability Lab came The Blueprint Project, an innovative neighborhood economic development hub that supports local entrepreneurs in Muskegon Heights. Led by the Community Investment Group, or CIG, the Blueprint Project is centralizing resources and strengthening relationships that support residents in transitioning their passions into livelihoods, creating a revitalized downtown for Muskegon Heights and a healthier community along the way.
